United for Efficiency supports Türkiye’s policymakers and regulators in advancing policies, strategies and actions for the phase-out of inefficient motors in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The initiative promotes an integrated policy approach to support the transition to energy-efficient motor systems, ensuring that market transformation can be sustained over time by the domestic market without continued external support.

Main Components
This GEF-funded project aims to promote increased investment in industrial energy efficiency in Türkiye by transforming the market for energy-efficient motors used in small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Strengthening legislative, regulatory and policy frameworks for energy-efficient motors
- Capacity building for stakeholders to promote the benefits of efficient motor systems
- Upgrading the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) testing laboratory and strengthening monitoring, verification and enforcement
- Development and scaling of a “one-stop-shop” financial support mechanism for sustainable investments
- Enhancing knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, and public awareness of energy-efficient motors
