On 17 – 18 June 2019, a successful closing workshop was held in Rabat, Morocco, for the Market Transformation for Energy-Efficient Lighting project. During the workshop, United for Efficiency’s team of experts presented the results from the Country Lighting Market Assessment, a proposal for Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and labeling, and the Environmental Sound Management recommendation for the correct disposal of spent lamps in Morocco. Morocco Celebrates the Installation of 9 Million Energy-Efficient Lamps
On 2 November 2016 Morocco’s National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water and the UN Environment celebrated the installation of their 9 millionth energy-efficient lamp with a special event in Casablanca. The event was part of Morocco’s INARA program, which started 10 years ago, and aims to replace 15 million incandescent lamps with low-energy consumption lamps to promote energy efficiency.
