Webinar
Electric Motor Systems — Motors and VSDs, Pumps, Fans, and Air Compressors
23 October 2024, 15:00-16:30 CEST
There is tremendous potential to reduce electricity waste by electric motor systems, as well as the associated cost and carbon emissions from this electricity. U4E hosted a webinar to introduce an updated Policy Guide, which provides general background information and Model Regulation Guidelines, which assist with setting policies for Energy-Efficient Electric Motor Systems—motors and VSDs, pumps, fans, and air compressors—designed to assist policymakers with introducing proven regulations to lower national energy use and CO2 emissions.
Specific objectives included to:
- Inform participants about the benefits of energy-efficient motors and motor systems.
- Present the updated policy guide and model regulation guidelines, whose revision reflects the improvements in technology and policies for motors and motor systems.
- Share experiences from U4E and countries on adopting the model regulation guidelines.
The webinar was meant for policymakers, technical officers, experts, and advisors from developing and emerging economies who wish to adopt new policies or programmes or update existing ones.
