Sustainable public procurement is the process whereby public sector organisations meet their needs for goods, services, works and utilities in a way that achieves value for money on a whole life basis in terms of generating benefits not only to the organisation, but also to society and the economy, whilst minimizing, and if possible, avoiding, damage to the environment.
In March 2022, the U4E Green Public Procurement Technical Guidelines and Specifications for Energy-efficient Refrigeration Appliances and Air Conditioners were featured as part of the Asia Pacific Green Public Procurement (GPP) Network webinar series aimed at sharing knowledge and networking on sustainable public procurement in the Asia Pacific region.
The webinar provided an introduction to U4E’s work, and presented the main recommendations from the guidelines. It also inlcuded case studies from India and Thailand. The presentations and recording from the webinar are available to view.
