Singapore-IEA Energy Efficiency Training Week for Asia-Pacific

The International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Energy Market Authority of Singapore are pleased to announce the inaugural Singapore-IEA Energy Efficiency Training Week for Asia-Pacific.

The Training Week is the first activity under the Singapore-IEA Regional Training Hub. Launched in October 2016, this Regional Training Hub taps on Singapore’s location at the heart of Southeast Asia to provide the region with greater access to IEA’s training and expertise, and existing synergies between Singapore and the IEA to co-create capacity building programmes based on the evolving needs of the region.

The E4 Training Week consists of 4 parallel courses on energy efficiency in: 1) buildings; 2) industry; 3) lighting, appliances, and equipment; and 4) transport. Each course offers a mix of lectures, interactive discussions, practical exercises and a site visit. The programme also includes joint sessions on assessing the potential for energy efficiency, tracking progress, communication campaigns and finance as well as a special focus on measuring the social and economic benefits of energy efficiency measures.

The training event is free to attend but participants are in charge of covering all of their own travel and accomodation costs. Applicants must have relevant work experience and currently hold a position pertinent to the course that they wish to take. Strong English Language skills are essential in order to participate.
