Cuba, El Salvador and Honduras

United for Efficiency is working with the Governments of Cuba, El Salvador and Honduras to advance policies, strategies and actions for the phase-out of inefficient air conditioners. Emphasis is on an integrated policy approach so that a transition can be sustained by the regional market without continued external support or resources.

PROJECT DETAILS

LEAPFROGGING TO ENERGY-EFFICIENT AND CLIMATE FRIENDLY AIR CONDITIONERS IN CUBA, EL SALVADOR AND HONDURAS

This GCF Readiness Programme-funded project is working with the Governments of Cuba, El Salvador and Honduras to help the three countries leapfrog to superior cooling solutions. It follows a three-pronged approach: enhancing stakeholder capacity for pursuing strategic  priorities, implementing a framework for MEPS and labels for room air conditioners appliances, and creating greater knowledge sharing and learning for consumers from the residential and public sector on purchasing efficient cooling  products.
